The George Aspinall Band
The “George Aspinall Band” has been around in some form or another since the ’70s. The band performs a wide variety of music, from Buffet to blues, country to rock, 70’s to 90’s, with audience and comedic interaction as one of the mainstays of this local band. Their eclectic “genre” makes them appealing to audiences of all ages.
George Aspinall – Guitar/Vocals
George “Nightingale“ Aspinall, better known as “Papa George rock star” to his granddaughters is also a born and raised Jacksonvillian and is the founder (thus the name), front man and general trouble maker of the band. George has been annoying/entertaining audiences with his original music and eclectic covers for over 35 years, Received his first guitar when was 6 and immediately destroyed it.
Earl Doughman – Drums/Lyrics
Earl “I’d rather be fishing” Doughman is a born and raised Jacksonvillian, playing drums since he was 13 years old. He’s played with such notables as Robert Nix, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Terry Garth and Rickie Medlock of Blackfoot and Lynyrd Skynyrd fame. Earl’s been with us for 15 years. Earl is also a very talented photographer..and you guessed it …fisherman.
Jeff Beck – Bass
Jeff ”Always perfect” Beck is from Wheeling, West Virginia. Jeff began performing at various venues at age seven. Originally an accordionist/keyboardist, he switched to bass guitar in the early eighties during which time his band, Backroad Country, opened for nearly every touring major country music act and played on the Grand Ole Opry.Coming from a long line of very talented West Virginia musicians Jeff as been in the Jacksonville area for over 25 years and brings over 35 years of musical experience and annoying habits to the band and has been with us for over 15 years.
